Faces in sound

So I saw that whole aphex twin face thing and thought, how lame. if this guy wanted to encode pictures into a sound file *right*, he should have hired a better programmer. That night I hacked up code to do it. Maybe later I'll post the actual code, even though it consists of a tcl script calling imagemagick to convert a png, C code to do the encoding into raw sound, and sox to get it into .wav format.. way ugly, but only about two beers worth. Anyway, here are two examples that I did back in september of 2001.

Click on the picture to download the .wav file, and view the .wav in a waterfall spectrograph to see the pictures.
